Larry Allen

A Sonoma State legend

From Sonoma State to Canton

Remembering Larry Allen, his remarkable football career, and the people who celebrated his achievements.

A Cossack who reached football’s highest honor

Larry Allen played football at Sonoma State before becoming an NFL standout with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

This tribute is also a place to preserve the personal side of his story: reunions, friendships and the memories of those who knew him.

2013 · Hall of Fame induction celebration

Original photographs taken by an archive contributor at the 2013 celebration capture Larry Allen, fellow attendees and moments from the gathering. A dedicated gallery of these photographs is being prepared.

2014 · Sonoma State gathering

Photographs from a separate 2014 event at Sonoma State will be preserved as their own collection, rather than mixed with the 2013 induction celebration.

His NFL years

Larry Allen’s professional career included the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. His path from Sonoma State to the Hall of Fame remains one of the most extraordinary stories connected to the Cossacks.
